Recovery

We are all trying desperately to "recover" from Christmas :) Raegan and Drew both ended up with a stomach virus to top off the weeks events, and we are trying to spend a quiet day at home just resting. Let's just say it's been a 3 cup of coffee day and it's not even 3:00 p.m.! (Thanks for my new and much bigger coffee pot Tony!) We are starting to feel better though. Here are a couple of pictures of our last night of fun before the vomiting and diarrhea started.

Me and my crazy crew. Does it look like we had partied till we were about to drop?My favorite picture of the evening... Nana, Connor and Raegan playing in their Rock Band. I just wish you could have heard to singing to go along with it :) Hope everyone is resting and getting back to routine like we are!

Christmas pictures

Since I seem to have almost 500 pictures of our Christmas festivities, I decided a slideshow would be the best way to let you see all that we did. This was by far the busiest, but the BEST Christmas we have ever had!!! I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Happy Birthday Drew

I can hardly believe that just one short year ago from today, my son entered this world weighing 6 lbs 6 oz. He was 3 weeks early, and the most laid back baby we could have asked for. He has (and hopefully always will be) a snuggle bug.
He is completely mobile now, finally able to keep up with his big sister. He is on the go constantly, and is always willing to flash a sweet smile. This picture is Drew in a nut shell :) Such a sweet little boy.
Little man and his Mama on his birthday!
Drew, you have been the best surprise we could have ever asked for. You are a wonderful addition to our family and couldn't imagine our life without you. You will always be our "Little Drew Man". WE LOVE YOU!!

In case you were wondering...

Since my attitude stunk this afternoon, I decided to do something about it this evening. We loaded up the car, stopped by Sonic for a hot dog (Raegan's favorite) and headed to Bluefield to see Christmas lights. We watched Frosty the Snowman on the way up, and listened to Christmas music while driving around Bluefield City Park. Afterwards, we went to Dairy Queen for some ice cream with sprinkles(again, Raegan's favorite). My head still hurts a little from my fall this morning, but my spirits are much higher after our little trip. Now I'm ready to face tomorrow full of Christmas cheer! Just thought I'd share :) MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I'm not gonna do it!

I'm not going to complain to you about how my kids have been on antibiotics for 5 days but are still coughing, snotty nosed, and feverish. Or how sleeping at night with less than 3 interruptions (because nobody can breath) is a thing of the past. Or how I fell in the garage today and hit my head leaving me bruised and with an INTENSE headache. Or how my attitude just seems to be getting worse by the second.
No, I'm not going to complain about all that two days before Christmas. I've got a roof over my head, a heat pump that works, and food in my fridge. The rest we will just have to pray gets better soon. Instead, I'm going to show you lots of cute pictures of my kids that I have been taking with my new camera. Enjoy!
Drew likes to pretend he can do flips, but only gets this far. He also lays his head on the ground like this when he is pitching a fit. (yes he has a little temper) It's no wonder our poor Christmas tree looks like it does. Everything within reach has been rearranged, removed, or whacked with a dump truck.
Raegan showing off her glasses.
Cutie pie Drew waving bye-bye.
Those eyes are gonna break some girls heart someday! This is his new face which he loves to show off. He crinkles that little nose and giggles... too cute! His famous "No mama, I didn't do ANYTHING wrong""Hmm, wonder if I can use this against Raegan???"
" You can't get me!"
What was supposed to be a hug turned out more like a tackle.
This was after she floored him. She looks way too proud of herself.
That was supposed to be another sweet hug from his sister.
Drew is running away from Raegan to avoid another hug :)

My tree looks like I feel... a little disoriented, but somehow still standing.

Drew's first Birthday Party

God is always surprising us in life! Drew was a wonderful surprise himself, but the fact that he was born the day after Christmas (and 3 weeks early) was another big surprise. It's hard to believe that just one year ago, Drew made his entrance into this world. He only weighed 6 lbs 6 1/2 oz., and now he weighs 23 lbs!!! I just can't believe it's already been a year! Since the holidays always seem to be a busy time of year, we decided to have his birthday party a couple of weeks early. We celebrated with lots of family and friends and we all had a great time. Being a barnyard themed party, we decided to have it at the Big Red Barn at Crab Orchard Museum. Here are MANY pictures of the big event. The yummy cake! The birthday boy destroying a napkin.Raegan might just be wishing that it was her birthday :)He was very upset that he wasn't allowed to touch the fire, so Raegan and I quickly blew it out and let him at the cake.He wasn't too sure about it at first, but quickly started to destroy the cake. Raegan was very concerned that he would get in trouble for making such a big mess :)We reached total destruction when his little cow was beheaded. I don't think he ever really tasted the cake, but man did he have fun making that big mess. What a boy!We had lots of "help" opening the presents, but I think this was the only one that Drew actually got to tear the paper. He found a plastic cup, and was entertained by it the whole time we opened his presents. He did decided to practice his new skill of climbing on this present. He went non-stop walking around greeting all his guests. Make way for the birthday boy. He is almost able to run now!!!Raegan knew that I didn't have my own camera, so she was helping out with some pictures :)I'm pretty sure that Drew's favorite thing about this whole party was that he got his very first Ring Pop. He held tight to his beloved paci, but would alternate sucking on one, then the other. We decided he was smarter than we thought, because he was making his paci much more flavorful!

Here are some of the kids playing with one of his toys.

Hanging with Uncle Scott, but still clinging to his sucker and paci. Not sure if you can see the cake in his hair or not, but he was covered. Does he look tired or what? We went straight home to soak in the tub and everyone was in bed by 8:30. We had lots of fun, but were all pretty wiped out when it was over :)

We love you Drew!! I can't believe my baby boy is ONE!

HELP!

I'm trying not to panic... but my camera is broken! That's right, broken. And I've got Drew's first birthday party coming up in TWO DAYS!!! Does anybody know a local place that can repair my camera. The only thing broken is the button that actually takes the picture (wish I knew what it was called). SOMEHOW, my camera was dropped. I won't mention any names (although it wasn't me, Tony or Drew!!!) Anyway, I'm sure I can borrow someones, but I just feel... naked without my camera.

Christmas projects

Well the holidays just seem to bring our my crafty side in full swing. Raegan and I have been making all sorts of fun things the last week or so. Here is a little clip of my enthusiastic helper while we were making salt dough ornaments. I just love this little girl.

Here she is working hard (in true Raegan fashion with that tongue stuck out) painting our ornaments. It took a lot of concentration. This next picture was a surprise project for Raegan. I had gotten some letters to paint to put Drew's name to his wall (finally) and the leftover was turned into a masterpiece by my little Picasso. The absence of clothes happened after she got a little paint very close to her sleeve, so she quickly stripped down to underwear and didn't take the time to put more clothes on.
Here is Raegan's little tree she decorated. We strung Fruit Loops for garland (very fun AND tasty :) and she picked out all the decorations herself. They were all different variation of balls and there are blue lights that you can't see. It has since been moved up onto her dresser since Drew kept knocking it down trying to get to the Fruit Loops.
Here are a couple of the cinnamon ornaments we made that Raegan decorated with Puffy paint. She really wanted pink paint even though it wasn't a Christmas color, and as you can see just globbed it on. I think they are beautiful though! The candy cane was mine.
And just so you know that we haven't brushed Drew to the side, he has been hanging out watching us "create" and trying his best to get his hands on everything that resembles food. His new favorite toys... the remote and a hairbrush. He is so easy to please.

Here is the proof

Well here is the proof that Drew is definately walking. Just so you know, he stood up right in the middle of the floor for this little clip. He is getting much braver and would rather walk than crawl. What happened to my baby Drew?!?!

By the way, anybody else think we need new kitchen floors? :) If only I had a money tree in my back yard....

Always having fun

Why do we even bother spending money on toys?? My kids have always loved playing with the everyday household items. Raegan for instance always loved the Red Dixie cup. Drew's favorite is our hot pink laundry basket. There new favorite that has become a regular at our house is the homemade tent. This seems to be a permanent fixture in our home for the time being, and has provided hours of fun.
All you need is a big blanket, a couple of chairs and an imagination.
