Snowed in

Since we have been snowed in for the last couple of days, we are going a little stir crazy.. at least I am. We have had a few visitors, but I'm just ready to get out of my house! Tony's mother is coming to watch the children, and I'm off to the gym. I've been going about 3 times a week, trying to rid myself of this baby gut. I didn't get to go on Wednesday since I didn't want to get my kiddos out in this yucky weather. I have managed to lose 3 lbs, but am far from where I'd like to be. Of course the pan of brownies that I've been eating for two days certainly will slow down my progress :) Hey, it's baby steps to success.

We did get quite a bit of snow. I would love to get to play on our new swingset, but we weren't up for digging the swing out of the snow or braving the 15 degree temps. As Raegan says, "BRRRR cold, I feeze" You know it's going to be a good day when your daughter decides to suck out her own boogies!
Here is Drew's 2 months picture in the "reading chair". For those of you faithful readers, you will remember the monthly pics of Raegan's first year in this chair. The whole reading chair is kind of a joke between me and Tony. I talked him into buying this leather chair saying it would be the PERFECT chair to curl up with a good book and a good cup of coffee and just read for hours. Needless to say, the only thing we have used it for is taking pictures and reading the occasional children's book in. Maybe one day (dare I dream :)
Drew is smiling up a storm now. It's still hard to catch on camera, but he is kinda grinning here. He even tries to chuckle a little bit.
Isn't he a handsome little thing. (that's a 6 months outfit!)A tender moment between brother and sister. Drew always has that wild look on his face whenever Raegan is around... wonder why?!?!Here was one of our visits from our friends the Ratliffs. Macie and Raegan took turns strolling each other around in this baby doll stroller. I'm not sure what the weight limit is, but it still works.
Brodie just adored Drew this time. The feeling wasn't' quite mutual, but one day they will be good friends like Macie and Raegan. Brodie is just happy to have another boy around.
And Brodie just had to try out Drew's swing. He climbed in all by himself. Boys will be boys.

Toes and big bellies

Our kids are growing so fast! Raegan is talking up a storm and using the potty pretty regularly now. One of the things we do to entertain ourselves while she is on the potty is paint our toenails and fingernails. I just thought these pictures were cute.

Drew has outgrown lots of his 3 month clothes and is a whopping 12 lbs now (at 8 weeks old!) He is a big boy! Just look at the size of that belly :)And what about that double chin and those cheeks.
He wanted to show off his mohawk. Naturally, since I was taking Drew's picture with his clothes off, Raegan thought she needed to join in the with her clothes off as well. I'm pretty sure she is tickling him in this picture. I think Drew's belly might be bigger around than Raegans.
It took me a little longer to get clothes back on Raegan. No, she isn't growling at the camera, it's just her cheese face.
Here is Drew just hanging out on his belly.
Reagan likes to "help" entertain Drew when he is on his belly. What infant wouldn't love staring at his sister's head?I tried really hard to get a good picture of both kids. Here is the only one that they are looking at the camera, but don't they look enthused?! I wish you could really see the look on Drew's face. He's looking at Raegan like "What are you doing so close to me?!"This was one of the problems. Raegan just wanted to "love" on Drew instead of smile for the camera.
She is also being a very helpful big sister. She has given up her paci during the day, but now she makes sure that if Drew cries he has his paci. She can even put it in his mouth. I came in the living room the other day to find Drew sucking on his paci... upside down. He didn't seem to mind that Raegan had put it in the wrong way :) Here she is working hard to give it to him.
This was just too funny not to take a picture of. It's Raegan's bedhead after a long night of sleep. The picture really doesn't do it justice, because it was standing up everywhere.

Life with kids

Life with kids is never dull! I always seem to have more pictures of Raegan than of Drew, but she just does a lot more stuff. On that note, here are a few things our first born has been up to lately. Not only is she mastering the art of feeding herself with a spoon, but she loves to sit in a big girl chair. Here is her latest attempt at applesauce (thankfully it doesn't stain!). This, is typical Raegan. When she concentrates on anything, she sticks her tongue out... JUST LIKE HER GRANDAD!!!
I found her resting like this on my Boppy yesterday (notice the fuzzy slippers :)
Here is sweet baby Drew snuggling our friend Lisa. He still loves to snuggle!!!
I love those bright eyes.
Check out the size of those growing cheeks. He is up to 11 lbs now!
Here is another example of Raegan showing her independance. Since ABC's and 123's stain, she had to sit in her chair and I just took her shirt off... good thing cause she made a big mess.
She obviously dropped a bite.
And this is the aftermath. She is still perfecting her skills.
Yes, she still fits in her Bumbo seat. She loves to watch me cook, so I just sit her on the counter (closely supervised and away from anything hot) and she loves it. It keeps the pre-dinner whining to a minimum.
Here is my little guy modeling his VT outfit. Isn't he a cutie. He is such a sweet baby.
As you can see, his face is finally clearing up. He looked rough for a couple of weeks.
Me and my kiddos.
These were taken at Tony's grandparents this past weekend. We went to visit and let them meet Drew. The other family is Tony's cousin Aaron, Anna and kids Ryder and Sadie. We had lots of fun playing with the kids.

Matching Jammies

Today, my son turned 6 weeks old! I can't believe how quickly the past month and a half have flown by. (considering how slowly it seemed to creep by when I was miserably pregnant!) Anyway, we finally took Drew to get his picture made today, and of course big sister had to have hers taken as well. They turned out so well!!! We took them to Olan Mills and when they load online, I'll give you all the info so you can view them too. Anyway, I thought this was really cute of my kiddos in their matching PJ's. It's funny, but Drew looks almost as big as Raegan :)
She still loves to rub his hair.
Check out those cheeks!
I loved this little outfit. He has matching pants that you can't see, but he looked too cute.
A sweet kiss from big sis.
Well, must run get little brother in the bed.

Comparison

Just wanted to see who thinks Drew looks like Raegan. Drew is one month in this picture and Raegan is about 1 1/2 months.

Family

After 5 1/2 weeks with our newest family member, things are finally starting to feel "normal". I guess it's what you'd call new normal. Drew has settled right into his status as second child by being laid back and very tolerant (so far) of his big sister's loving. Raegan seems to adore Drew and showers him with love and random toys daily. It amazes me how much our little family has changed in just a couple of weeks. This is my favorite photo of the week. You can see just how chubby Drew is getting. I'm guessing he is close to 10 1/2 or 11 lbs now. This is our latest family photo. Isn't this just precious. She really does love him.
And still snoozing away.
