Big girl bed (kinda)

My Type A personality daughter has never taken very well to change. She prefers things to remain constant, and doesn't like anything to be a surprise. Knowing this, any time we do anything different, we have to spend about a week to prepare her for it. Up until yesterday, she still slept in her crib bed. We had been talking about sleeping in a big girl bed, since she climbed in and out of her crib by herself. She would lay in there and shout "Mama, I'm awake. Come and get me" As soon as I would open the door, she would start climbing out. (At least she still waited on me) Anyway, since there was some fear about her getting hurt in this process, we decided to think about a big girl bed. Her crib turns into a toddler bed, so we felt that would be a good place to start. And for the first time yesterday (after lots of talking it up) I assembled her "new" bed and she slept for 2 1/2 hours for her nap and slept soundly throughout the night. I'm a little surprised that she took so well to it, but as you can tell from the pictures, it's not much different from her crib. She still sleeps with the baby bumper (she snuggles up to it at night) and still has her little aquarium. Hey, at least she doesn't have to climb in anymore. Baby steps :)
Here she is at about 8 months old in her crib... my how things have changed! She is very happy to just be able to jump in and not have to shimmy over the rail.
She and her baby posing for the camera.
Tony and I have joked that the little aquarium will have to go to college with her :) As you can see, it's not that dramatic of a change, but for Raegan it's a very big deal!
As you can see above, she is finally wearing a different dress, (Only because her Christmas tree dress was in the washer) She wore the cow dress for about 1 hour, and then took it off and sat beside the laundry room door. When asked what she was doing, she said "Waiting for my Christmas Dress to dry" And she did... she went around refusing to put anything on except her Christmas Dress. Her dress is now dry and she is a happy little girl again, in her favorite dress :)
